CBD - Frequently Asked Questions

Is CBD oil legal?

Yes. All CBD products that ReWild Hemp offers are extracted from industrial hemp plants, contain less than 0.3% THC, and legal.

Are hemp and marijuana the same?

No. People are often confused about hemp and marijuana. Hemp and marijuana both come from the Cannabis family, but hemp is different from marijuana in its chemical makeup, cultivation methods, and how it is used.

Hemp and marijuana are both from the Cannabis family and lemons and oranges are in the citrus family. They are similar, yet differerent

Industrial hemp and marijuana are like a Shih Tzu and a wolf: same species, different creature.

What is Hemp?

Is CBD a drug?

No. CBD is extracted from a specific naturally occurring plant species. CBD interacts with and balances organ and tissue systems at the cellular level. Unlike pharmaceuticals, CBD works naturally to create homeostasis in the body.

What is CBD?

Will CBD make me high?

No. CBD and THC interact differently:

THC binds primarily with the CB1 receptors located predominantly in the brain and spinal cord, leading to the mind-altering “high.”

CBD does not bind directly with receptors in the body. Instead, CBD activates both CB1 and CB2 receptors, producing physiological changes that lead to positive health benefits.

What is the difference between CBD oil and hemp oil?

The significant difference between CBD oil and hemp oil is the CBD content. Hemp oil is beneficial but contains little CBD. CBD oil is full of phytocannabinoids with a high CBD content.

Does CBD interact with other medications?

All compounds interact with other compounds. For example, caffeine has 82 known drug interactions, 25 of them moderate to severe.

Most potential CBD interactions are identified as mild.

With that said, we recommend that you speak with your doctor prior to taking any CBD products with other medications.

What dosage should I take?

CBD experts recommend that the best rule is to start low and go slow. A good starting dose is between 3 mg and 6mg.

How long will it take for CBD to work?

Each individual is different. Some individuals experience immediate relief, while others require a week or two until the CBD “builds up” in the body.

Are there side effects?

CBD side effects are rare and usually minor. Side effects include: nausea, loose bowels, and dry mouth.

Can I overdose?

No. Studies show that CBD can be taken in high doses for an extended time period without health concerns or toxicity. Issues arise in contaminated or synthetic CBD oil.

Will I fail a drug test?

Consuming CBD oil should not cause a positive THC drug test. Full spectrum CBD oil contains less than 0.3%, of THC. This would be comparable to eating a poppy seed muffin and testing positive for opium.

Will CBD oil pass through airport security?

Yes. CBD oil that is extracted from industrial hemp and contains less than 0.3% THC is federally legal and is permitted by airport security. Remember, all liquids taken on an airplane must be under 3.4 ounces in volume.

What about pets?

CBD oil is a safe and natural alternative for numerous ailments in pets, from minor pet irritations to serious pet health conditions.

What is the difference between an isolate and full spectrum/whole plant CBD oil?

“Whole plant” or “full spectrum” CBD oil refers to using the entire plant rather than isolating just the CBD from cannabis. Evidence suggests that using the whole plant creates the perfect balance of ingredients: terpenoids, CBD, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, and flavonoids. These compounds together amplify the other’s effects, creating more powerful medicinal properties.
